To help brokers and sales agents navigate the complexities of taxation and compliance, Ecoverde Homes, in partnership with XDT & Company Inc., successfully held TaxWise 2026: Building Trust Through Tax Knowledge, an educational session focused on BIR compliance and tax fundamentals.

The learning session featured Prof. XY and Jazper “Kuya Jaz” Epino, who shared practical insights to help real estate professionals strengthen their understanding of tax regulations and confidently serve their clients with integrity.

Prof. XY opened the session by discussing Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 4-2026, introducing the One-Time Tax Abatement Program designed to help qualified micro taxpayers settle eligible tax deficiencies. He explained the purpose of the program, who may qualify, the requirements for availing of the tax relief, and the importance of complying with BIR regulations. His discussion emphasized that staying compliant is not only about meeting legal obligations but also about fostering credibility, transparency, and long-term business growth. By understanding these tax initiatives, brokers and sales agents can better guide clients while ensuring responsible and compliant business practices.

Complementing the session, Jazper guided participants through the taxes that brokers and sales agents are required to pay based on their commissions. He explained how commissions are computed for tax purposes, when VAT applies, and the corresponding BIR obligations. By presenting practical examples and real-life scenarios, he helped attendees better understand their tax responsibilities and the importance of accurate tax computation and compliance.

The session encouraged active participation, with attendees raising questions and engaging in meaningful discussions about the tax challenges they encounter in their profession. By breaking down complex tax concepts into practical applications, both speakers equipped participants with valuable knowledge that they can immediately apply in their day-to-day work.
